Children’s after school activities: Matas

We get acquainted with Matas from Šilutė district when we got a letter from one social worker. She forwarded us an appeal of one grandfather. A man of respectable age was asking us to help his grandson. The old man raises the boy alone. Matas mother died and his father doesn’t care about the son. Matas is doing very well at school and his favorite after school activity is basketball. It is not easy to raise a teenager alone. In his letter Mata’s grandfather was asking for sportswear and new sports shoes. The boy’s wish was fulfilled, but not only sportswear. Under the project “Children’s after school activities”, our foundation financed his basketball trainings for the whole year!!! Half a year has passed and we received good news from the social worker. According to her, Matas is doing well and he wants to attend additional basketball training lessons and would like to go every day, but the price for one individual training is 10 euros and it is too expensive for the grandfather. Also, Matas is planning to train during the summer.

We support Mata’s sportive enthusiasm and determination, and will definitely contribute to the additional training lessons.
