Small steps, big change: how the holidays become brighter !

The festive season is not only about gifts, but also about communication. Before Christmas, continuing the foundation’s long-term tradition, we visited lonely elderly people and families cared for by social workers, and spent warm moments together.

This year we visited 20 lonely elderly people in Kaunas district and 20 in Varėna city, and we also visited 15 families living in Rietavas and its surroundings and 33 children growing up in these families.

We were greeted and warmed by smiles and words of gratitude. The children’s eyes were shining with joy when they saw the presents, and we delighted their parents with Christmas treats.

Holidays for lonely seniors is often a sad period. But this time, everything was different. Their hearts were full of light, and ours were full of joy. Such gatherings remind us that small signs of attention can make a big difference.
