Breathe of Hope: support for Agnyte
We have met Agnyte very recently. We were kindly contacted by the mother of this beautiful little girl. Agnyte is the only child in the family, who was born and raised healthy. Unfortunately, at the age of one and a half, she got an intestinal infection, after which she lost all her abilities, but her cognition and thinking remained unaffected. She is willing to learn everything that other children learn, some things she does even beyond her age, but she is still not very good at controlling her body. More than a year and a half ago, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Leigh syndrome, a genetic mitochondrial disorder. She is the third person in Lithuania to suffer from this disease. As a result, she now has cerebral palsy. Agnyte needs continuous rehabilitation, but in Lithuania, she is not receiving sufficient therapy. Her parents wish to take her to the Paley Clinic in Poland more often, where she can receive more intensive therapy.
The family is doing everything for their little angel, but the costs are enormous. We couldn’t remain indifferent, so together with our sponsors UAB Rekana, we made a donation of 500 EUR for Agnytė’s rehabilitation as part of the project “Breath of Hope”.
We sincerely thank UAB Rekana fot this donation and we hope that thanks to the rehabilitation the little girl will get stronger and make her parents and all of us happy with her little steps.
